PayNorthwest stands firmly with the Black community in saying Black Lives Matter and that we must do better. This is not a trend, but a movement, and the fight against systemic racism and injustice is not over!
As an organization and as employees, we believe that charitable giving to organizations that support the well-being of the community is part of our obligation as good corporate citizens. We will align our charitable giving efforts to support organizations that focus on eliminating systemic racism in an effort for long-term change.
As part of PayNorthwest’s commitment to this important movement, PayNorthwest formed a BLM Charity workgroup. This workgroup, comprised of interested and passionate PayNorthwest staffers, researched reputable charities that understand the importance of fighting for racial equality and compiled a list of worthy organizations for PayNorthwest employees to consider in their personal charitable giving.
To provide additional incentive to give, our founder and CEO Mike Anderson and his wife, Lisa, have offered to personally match each employee’s contributions to organizations identified by the BLM workgroup dollar for dollar up to $150 per employee! Mike commented, “My wife and I were so inspired by the passion and desire to help end racial injustice shown by our people at PayNorthwest, we wanted to add our voice and our resources to the effort.”
Additionally, PayNorthwest’s Charitable Giving Committee (PayNorthwest commits funds each year for a committee of employees to donate to charitable organizations), has received a 2 to 1 dollar match challenge from the Andersons for the first $1,500 the committee grants to organizations on the list.
The entire team at PayNorthwest continues to look for ways to be a positive influence and helping hand in ending racism and building a more equitable and just society.
